3/4 Camp
How lucky were our Year 3/4 students to have the sun shining at Camp Adanac this week! The beautiful weather made their camp experience even more special, providing the perfect opportunity to get outdoors, try new activities and challenge themselves.
Thank you to the Nick, Melody, Gabby, Mandy, Julia, Amanda, Jane and Jack for attending camp and ensuring all our kids were well looked after and had a wonderful time.
We also couldn't do it with our parents who came along to support our camp this year. Many thanks to Celia, Justine, Caroline, Alice, Claire, Asteria, Jason, Emma and Mark.
Congratulations to Mia on recieving the Rotary Youth Achievement Award

A true advocate for our community and for those who may be less fortunate, Mia goes out of her way to include, support and uplift others. She has a genuine understanding of the importance of giving back and is always looking for ways to make a positive difference.
We are incredibly proud of Mia and the positive impact she continues to make in our community. Congratulations on this well deserved recognition, Mia!

Walk to School Week: Monday 26th – Friday 30th
We’re excited to take part in Walk to School Week, running next week from Monday 26th to Friday 30th!
Walking to school is also a wonderful way to connect with friends, spend time outdoors and help reduce traffic around our school.
To celebrate, we’ll be holding our
Walk to School Week Breakfast on Wednesday 28th, alongside our usual Breakfast Club. This starts at 8.15am. BYO plate, bowl and spoon. Parents will need to stay on site until 8.45am, when the school take over duty of care.
AND.......there will be a coffee van on site for parents to enjoy a hot drink and catch up before school starts.
We encourage all students and families to get involved wherever possible. Whether you walk the whole way or park a little further away and walk the rest!
Planning for 2027 Classes
Behind the scenes, preparations are beginning for the 2027 school year. We want to ensure that each child is placed in an environment where they can feel comfortable, build positive relationships and thrive in their learning. We understand that families may have information about their child that could assist us with this process. If there are any particular circumstances you would like us to know about, such as health needs, learning requirements, or changes in family circumstances, please email mt.pleasant.road.ps@education.vic.gov.au.
While we welcome information from families, we are unable to accommodate requests for specific teachers. All placements will be carefully considered as part of the planning process. Please send any relevant information by Friday 6th November.
Parent contributions for 2027
Towards the end of this term, families will receive information regarding Parent Contributions for 2027. Proposed Parent Contributions are considered through our Finance Committee and School Council before being communicated to the school community. Further information will be provided later this term.
Thunderstorm Asthma
Ten years ago, Melbourne experienced the largest thunderstorm asthma event in the world. Thunderstorm asthma can be sudden and serious. It can be life-threatening, especially if a person’s asthma or hay fever is not well controlled. Grass pollen season in Victoria usually runs from October to December. During this time, asthma and hay fever symptoms can get worse.
Managing asthma and allergies matter. During this pollen season, there are some things you can do to protect yourself and your family.
- If your child has ever had asthma, talk to your doctor about your Asthma Action Plan and to make sure symptoms are well controlled.
- If your child has hay fever, talk to your pharmacist or doctor about a hay fever plan and check if you need an asthma reliever puffer.
- If your child keeps having a cough or wheeze, talk to your doctor to make sure they don’t also have an allergy or asthma.

Colour Run Coming December 4th
More details coming next week! 🌈
For those new to our Colour Run, you’ll need a white T-shirt. So, find an old one and get ready for the most colourful and fun day at school ever!
Oval Works
We’re continuing to monitor the oval, as the grass needs more time for its roots to establish firmly in the soil.
This week, sand was spread to fill in the gaps, and the oval will be rolled again next week. With rain forecast, we’re also hoping for a good soaking to help the grass along.
I’ll continue to keep you updated on its progress!
Enjoy the weekend.
