2026 Big Chop and Greatest Shave
Clayfield College’s 2026 Big Chop and Greatest Shave was a wonderful success, bringing our community together to support two important causes. Youngman House was proud to support The Kids’ Cancer Project through the Big Chop and Crazy Hair and Sock Day, while also introducing the Greatest Shave in support of the Leukaemia Foundation.
With 34 participants taking part in the Big Chop and 21 in the Greatest Shave, including two girls who shaved their heads, the enthusiasm and generosity of our community were truly inspiring. Dr Cousins and Rev also joined in by shaving their heads, adding to the excitement and spirit of the day. We are incredibly proud to share that our fundraising goals were reached, helping support vital research and better outcomes for children and families affected by cancer.
We extend our sincere thanks to everyone who donated, participated, encouraged their friends and helped organise the event. The support shown by the Clayfield College community made the day memorable and demonstrated the power of coming together for causes that make a real difference.

LUX 2026
LUX 2026 was held last Friday evening and celebrated the Arts and culture within our community. Throughout the evening we enjoyed a variety of music and language performances, drama and dance presentations as well as the Visual Art Exhibition featuring works from students in Years 1 to Year 12. I really enjoyed exploring the whole school art exhibition and watching the different performances. I loved seeing the variety of cultures represented through all of the performances such as Corre by the Year 9 Spanish students and Wish, performed by the Year 4 Chinese students. The Foundation Courtyard also featured a Spanish dancing workshop by professional dancers and it was great to see everyone join in. I thought it was interesting how the event showcased so many different talents, including visual art, music, drama and dance. Overall, I really enjoyed the experience because it showed me how the Arts and sharing of culture can bring people together.
