Although we have had to pause our Popcorn Days for the moment due to safety issues with the machine, Term 3 finished with a bang with our Father’s Day Stall, the return of our school disco, Footy Day meal deal, and our Colour Run 4 Fun.
All the students enjoyed picking out a gift for their special someone for Father’s Day, and it was wonderful to see all our students sparkling away at the disco and having a great time with their friends.
We hope everyone enjoyed their lunch on Footy Day, a massive thank you to Café by Paris on Frankston Flinders Road in Somerville for supplying our delicious sausage rolls and pies – it was wonderful to be able to support a small local business whilst fundraising for our school at the same time.
Lastly our colour run – what a great day we had with the weather! Everyone looked like they had a fabulous time, congratulations to Dylan and Theo as our highest fundraisers and PL for being our highest fundraising class! Overall the school raised $11, 016.32 – well done everyone!
A huge thank you to all our organisers and volunteers – without your help these events simply wouldn’t happen.
Upcoming in Term 4 we have a few events to look forward to. Icy pole sales will commence next Wednesday 6th November at lunchtime, if you’d like to volunteer to help with this event, please sign up via https://volunteersignup.org/HEFY9. We also are having a mini meal deal, “Nuggets in November” on Thursday 14th November, to help celebrate the Year 5 Inquiry topic, “The Gold Rush.” Students will be able to purchase a pack of chicken nuggets for lunch. Order forms and volunteer sign up sheets will be out on COMPASS soon! Our end of year meal deal will be on Friday 6th December – more details to follow closer to the time.
As always if you have any ideas for events or community outreach, or would like to be involved in FOSP activities, please contact fosp@somervilleps.vic.edu.au – we’d love to hear from you!
