Celebrating Food Studies Week at St John's

St John's Regional College last week celebrated Food Studies Week, showcasing the creativity, skill, and dedication of our students across Food Studies and VET Hospitality programs.

Each day offered students and staff a taste of something special. Lunchtime activities brought joy and delicious scents to campus with chocolate cookies and quick mug cakes — easy recipes students can replicate at home in just a few minutes.

On Thursday, our Graduate Restaurant hosted a VET Hospitality information session, providing students with a glimpse into the pathway opportunities available within the hospitality industry. The week finished on a sweet note with freshly made crepes — a definite crowd-pleaser.

One of the highlights was on Wednesday, when our VET Hospitality and Events students rose to the occasion spectacularly. They prepared and served meals to Careers Expo exhibitors, crafted beautiful canapés for families and visitors, and still managed to run a packed restaurant that evening. It was a powerful demonstration of their capability and professionalism.

Food Studies Week was more than just delicious — it celebrated the real-world skills our students are developing every day.
