Getting Ready for the 2025 VCE Exams
As Term 3 progresses, VCE students across all year levels are entering a crucial period of preparation for their final assessments. The coming weeks provide a valuable opportunity to consolidate knowledge, refine exam techniques, and build confidence ahead of the VCAA examination period.
To further assist our students, after-school revision sessions have been scheduled across all VCE subjects. These sessions provide targeted support in specific topics, offer opportunities to clarify complex concepts, and allow students to work through exam-style problems with the guidance of subject teachers. We strongly encourage all students to attend these sessions as an important step towards achieving a strong ATAR. From Monday, 11 August, all VCE Unit 3/4 students will receive a timetable outlining subject-specific revision sessions. Attendance at these sessions is compulsory for any student enrolled in the final exam for that subject.
Practice exams are one of the most effective ways to prepare for final assessments. All Unit 3/4 students will undertake trial exams during the school holidays. These exams simulate real-world experiences, helping students refine their exam techniques, manage time effectively, and build exam-day resilience. We remind students that preparation is not about perfection, but about progress. Every hour spent revising, every practice question attempted, and every session attended brings them closer to their personal goals. All Year 12 parents and guardians will receive an email containing a detailed package outlining all key information regarding the end-of-year arrangements.
Highlights from Our Careers Expo
Our recent Careers Expo was a resounding success, offering students and families a dynamic and engaging opportunity to explore the vast range of pathways available beyond secondary school. The event brought together universities, TAFEs, training providers, industry professionals, and representatives from all learning areas offered at St John’s College, united in their goal of empowering students to make informed decisions about their future. From university admissions and early entry programs to apprenticeships, traineeships, and career-specific insights, there was something valuable for every student, no matter where they are in their career planning journey.
We are deeply grateful to the many staff members, exhibitors, and students who contributed to the success of this event. As always, our Careers Office remains open to students and families who would like further guidance. We look forward to continuing the journey together.
