Sandhurst Netball Championships.

On the 6th of August 2025, our two representative netball teams competed at the Sandhurst Netball Championships at Golden City/Red Energy Arena.

Our girls' team did a wonderful job, winning four games, losing three and placing 4th overall. We scored some very accurate goals, our midcourt was amazing and our defence was outstanding. We are so grateful and had a great time competing and representing our school. We all had a lot of fun!

Our boys' team did an amazing job and placed in equal first based on win-loss ratio in Section 2. Luckily, we had scored five more goals in our matches which put us over the top and saw us claim first overall. We had a lot of fun playing and for most of us it was our first time playing. We played six games and won four, lost one and drew one.

We all would like to thank Mrs Gibson, our girls' netball coach, Mr Di Fede, our boys' netball coach, and the senior school students who did a fantastic job umpiring us. We would also like to thank the parents and grandparents who supported us throughout the tournament, Mrs Potter who took amazing photos and Mr Hoyt for his assistance on the day.

Northern Star Chess Tournament

According to the chess competitors of Girton Grammar School, on August 7th 2025, they felt relief as they had just won the Northern Star Chess Tournament at Eaglehawk North Primary School. They won by half a point! It was a very stressful day because they had no breaks for five hours. Non-stop chess is a dream for this group of boys but they didn’t realise how challenging the day would get the further they advanced. Their opponents got tougher, and competition got stronger.
