Parent Partnership Panel update

The Parent Partnership Panel (PPP) held its first meeting for 2026 in February, bringing together returning and new parent/carer representatives to strengthen collaboration between families and the College community. The meeting included introductions to welcome new members, as well as discussion of key priorities for the year ahead.
The Panel reviewed outcomes from the Catholic School Parents Queensland (CSPQ) AGM and confirmed its intention to continue CSPQ membership in 2026. Further investigation is underway to explore how Mount Alvernia parents can gain greater value from this membership.
Key discussion areas included financial updates, upcoming parent engagement initiatives, and insights from recent parent and student surveys to help inform planning for the year. The Panel also discussed potential projects for 2026 and approved funding for essential upgrades to the College pool cover and pump.
Members considered ways to further strengthen communication and engagement with families, noting current engagement levels with app notices and the school newsletter.
Planning and support for several upcoming community events were also discussed, including Parent Engagement Evenings (May and August), the Mt A Mum & Daughter Movie Night for Mother’s Day (Friday 8 May), Open Day (24 May), the College’s 70-Year Garden Party (Saturday 8 August), and Read with Your Dad (1 September). As always, the PPP remains focused on supporting initiatives that build strong connections across the Mount Alvernia community.
The next Parent Partnership Panel meeting will be held at 6.00pm on Tuesday 5 May 2026.
The Panel welcomes community input and ideas, and families are encouraged to contact the PPP at any time via the school email (subject line: ATTENTION MTA PPP).
