We also have some very special events coming up over the next few weeks.
On Friday 6 March, we look forward to welcoming our Foundation families back to Chapel for the presentation of Bibles to our Foundation students. This is always a deeply cherished occasion — a tangible and lasting reminder to our newest learners that they are known, loved and valued, both by our community and by God.
On Friday 13 March, we will host our Foundation Parent Welcome Evening, and we look forward to connecting with our newest school families in a more relaxed and personal setting.
Sports Day - Friday 11 September
Please mark your calendars! Sports Day will be held on Friday, 11 September. We are looking forward to a fun day with excellent weather. More details will be provided closer to the date.
Later in the term, we will also hold a Tabloid Sports afternoon for Years 3-6, which will serve as a selection trial for SACSA Athletics. Further information will be communicated soon.
Please continue to keep Mrs McCusker, our Sports Co-ordinator and PE Teacher in your prayers as she recovers from a back injury sustained before Christmas. We expect her to return in April and look forward to welcoming her back to the classroom.
We're a SunSmart School!
We are thrilled to share that our school has been officially accredited by Cancer Council SA as a SunSmart School. This accreditation reflects the genuine commitment of our entire school community — our staff, students, and families — to protecting ourselves from the harmful effects of UV radiation. Australia has one of the highest rates of skin cancer in the world, and here in South Australia we know how powerful our sun can be. Building healthy sun protection habits from an early age is one of the most important things we can do for the long-term health of our children.
To achieve SunSmart accreditation, schools must demonstrate a whole-of-community approach to sun protection. This includes having a comprehensive SunSmart policy in place, ensuring students have access to shade, promoting the daily use of sunscreen, encouraging the wearing of sun-protective clothing and broad-brimmed hats, and scheduling outdoor activities with UV levels in mind. We are pleased that sun safety is woven into our practices as a school.
LLL - Charitable Donations Program
We're thrilled to partner with LLL Australia to bring you a meaningful way to support our school through their Charitable Donation Program.
Your generosity in making a deposit with the LLL through a Charitable Facility Account which will assist us in upgrading our Foundation playground.
The funds you hold in your Facility will generate notional amounts of interest that is retained by LLL who will make a regular allocation to us to further our project, while your original investment remains completely untouched.
Our partnership with LLL Australia makes it simple and secure by:
- Opening a new LLL Charitable Facility.
- Nominating Golden Grove Lutheran Primary School as the preferred beneficiary of the interest your facility will forgo.
