House Cross Country - Friday 27th March
The rain and the majority of the wind held off for us on Friday to enjoy our Cross Country afternoon. The practice during every lesson for the majority of 3-6 classes and the prep to 2 recently, paid off as it was so great to see so many students giving something that can be quite challenging, a red hot go! Whether they ran, jogged or walked, getting a participation point for their team was a great achievement.
Our House Tally for the day....
Dillon - 182
Lyons - 180
Durkin - 169
Coghlan - 146
These numbers will go towards an overall tally for the year. There will be many other opportunities where the students can participate in various activities, sport or otherwise to obtain points for their house, with a perpetual trophy being awarded to the winning house. We look forward to seeing what the House and Sport Captains have in store for the remainder of 2026.
Year 5&6 Gala Day
Our next Gala day is scheduled for the year 5 & 6 students tomorrow. It is going to be a warm one, so please remember to pack the sunscreen. If you haven't given permission already, please do ASAP. Thank you to our volunteers Tom, Dustin, Jamie, Silvia and Lisa for the day! We really appreciate it.
Spotlight on PE - Year 4 & 5 Badminton
Our Year 4 & 5 students have been participating in a Badminton incursion for the past couple of weeks. David from Impact24 came to St James and taught our students to serve, forehand, backhand and move quickly around the court.
He was very impressed with the capability of our students to grab onto the concepts so quickly so he could progress their learning and get through lots of game time with them!
The students were incredibly engaged and enjoyed learning a new sport.
Below is a flyer for Impact24, they have just opened a location at Bayswater, press on the link if anyone is interested in something to do during the school holidays https://www.impact24.net/schoolholiday
Have a wonderful holiday break with your families,
Stay safe, keep active
