Executive Principal

Welcome back to Term 2. As we begin another busy and productive term at Palm Beach Currumbin State High School, we are reminded of our school motto, Nil Sed Optima – Nothing but the Best. This mindset underpins everything we do, encouraging every student to strive for their personal best in both learning and in the many opportunities available across our school.
Across the term, students will engage not only in their academic programs but also in a wide range of House and CARE activities, lunchtime events and extra-curricular opportunities. These experiences are vital in building connection, confidence and a strong sense of belonging. At PBC, success is not defined by the classroom alone, but by the breadth of opportunities students embrace and the effort they bring to each of them.
Regular attendance remains a key priority. There is a clear and consistent link between high attendance and strong academic achievement. Everyday counts, and every lesson matters. Attending school consistently ensures students can fully engage in their learning, maintain momentum and take advantage of the rich experiences on offer.
Parent-Teacher Interviews this term provide an important opportunity for families to connect with teachers and gain valuable insight into their child’s progress. We strongly encourage all parents and carers to take part. When schools and families work together in partnership, we create the strongest possible foundation for student success. These conversations help ensure that each student is supported, challenged and encouraged to achieve their very best.
There is much to look forward to in the weeks ahead, including our ANZAC Day Assembly and annual Cross Country event. I am looking forward to a positive and successful term and encourage all members of our community to embrace the spirit of Nil Sed Optima as we make the most of every learning and extracurricular opportunity that Term 2 will bring.
