Speechie Library TalksAA

Do you have a child between 0 – 5 years old? Would you like to help develop their language and literacy skills? Come along to one of our free Speechie Library Talks at Goulburn Valley Libraries this November.

Each year Speech Pathology Australia, in collaboration with the Australian Library Information Association, connects libraries and their communities with their local speech pathologist (Speechie). Speech pathologists work with children and families to help build the foundations on which literacy skills develop and help support a healthy transition into literacy.

The Speechie Library Talks are free presentations that offer an opportunity to speak with a local speech pathologist as well as exploring programs and services that your local library service has available for children and adults.

These talks are child friendly events and will include a demonstrated reading of one of the winning picture books from the Speech Pathology Australia Book of the Year Awards. There will be bookmarks and handouts for families and carers to take home. Our libraries have all the shortlisted SPA Book of the Year books available to borrow. There are five categories that are suitable for children from birth all the way up to 10 years of age.
