ADVENT SEASON 2023

As we approach the Advent season the students will be beginning their Advent preparation in the classrooms. This year our theme for Advent is - Hope, Peace, Joy, Love. We will be learning about advent and celebrating an advent liturgy each week starting in week 8. Our focus in the classroom and during the liturgy is on both the theme of the week and on the true meaning of Christmas for us as children of God: We are waiting for the birth of Jesus.

Advent Liturgies start in week 8 and will replace Friday Assembly @ 2:40pm.

1st Week : Friday Nov 24th- Year 1/2

2nd Week : Friday Dec 1st- Prep

3rd Week  : Friday Dec 8th- Year 3/4

4th Week : Friday Dec 15th- Year 6 (graduation, last day of term)

Part of our Advent preparation includes a focus on Social Justice. We will be asking the students to think about other children in our community and people who may not be as fortunate as we are.

This year for Christmas we will be supporting the Peninsula Toy Run. The Peninsula Toy Run has been benefiting the families in our local community since 2001. We will be collecting new unwrapped toys, canned or packaged non perishable foods to donate. The Toy Run is held on the first Saturday in December when motorcyclists gather at the Frankston Pier and ride down the Peninsula finishing at Rosebud Secondary College. All proceeds of the Toy Run go to Southern Peninsula Food For All.  Southern Peninsula Food For All is a non-profit organisation that assists the people of our local area.

Each classroom will have a tub for donations for you to place your items in. We encourage our families to contribute to this Social Justice activity that can make a real difference to people in need. Thank you in advance for your continued support and generousity.
