Years Prep to 2 students made wonderful reindeers from natural and recycled materials. Banksia pods for bodies, recycled corks for a head and sticks and twigs for legs and antlers which were collected from our school yard.

Our students collected towels for vets as part of their sustainability focus on reducing landfill by reusing unwanted items. Our towels went to the Community Animal Shelter, Mornington Peninsula and the Emergency Animal Centre.

As part of our Sustainability program we have interested senior students who would like to put on a Trash to Fash parade. We are looking for donations of good quality clothing that would normally go to an Op Shop. Only 18 % of clothes at Op Shops are resold.
We are trying to inspire students to repair and upcycle clothing rather than succumb to buying lots of unsustainable clothing. Students in art lessons are learning how to sew simple stitches and how to sew on a button. Basic but essential skills for life. If you have any clothes that are fit for repurpose please donate them to the art room.
If you have any questions about any of the above inforamton please dont hesitate to contact me via email. Thank you.
