Division Aths
On Wednesday 9th September, we had a number of students from Years 3-6 who went to represent the Macedon district and compete at division athletics at Keilor Park Recreation Reserve.
Max Allen: 100m & 800m
Alma Death: long jump
James Dwyer: 1500m & 800m
Finnan Howley: 1500m, 800m & triple jump
Jameson Howley: 1500m, 200m & triple jump
Max Mintern: triple jump
Jack Power: hurdles
Angelica Szostak: 1500m
Asha Towers: triple jump & long jump
James Walker: high jump
Max Allen, Hudson Butcher, Jack Power & Jameson Howley: 12/13 boys 100m relay
All students competed remarkably well and displayed outstanding sportsmanship on the day. Special congratulations go to Max Allen (100m, 800m & 12/13 boys 100m relay), James Dwyer (1500m & 800m), Finnan Howley (1500m, 800m), Jameson Howley (200m & 12/13 boys 100m relay), Hudson Butcher (12/13 boys 100m relay), Jack Power (12/13 boys 100m relay) and Asha Towers (triple jump) who have all successfully qualified for regional athletics on Tuesday 20th October.

Rugby Gala Day
Rugby Gala Day - Friday 4th September
On Friday, the 4th of September, the Year 5 and 6 boys and girls went to Dickson Field to compete in district rugby. When we arrived, both teams warmed up and got ready to play. Before we started, NRL Australia gave us tips on how to play and get past defenders, after that, we were ready to play.
Our first game was against Braemar; as soon as it started, we knew it would be close. Towards the end of the game, Braemar snuck through our defence and took the lead with their first try of the day. Then the whistle blew for full time, and we lost the game one try to zero.
Our second game was against Riddells Creek. We started well, but Riddell got the first try of the game; then we responded with one of our own tries from Max Allen to tie it up. Suddenly, we knew we could win and got two tries in a row from Beckam Bullen and Finnan Howley until Riddell responded with a try, then the full-time whistle blew, and we won our first game of the day.
Our next game was against Macedon. The game started, and our defence held up well. We got the first try of the game from Max Allen, then later in the game we got two more tries from Finnan Howley and Mitchell Harris. The final whistle blew, to win the game. Then we had a lunch break, where each school did a relay race.
Our final game was against New Gisborne. We started off with New Gisborne scoring the first try, then Finnan Howley scored two of his own tries to put us in the lead, and then Max McGrath finished the day with a try, and then the whistle blew for full-time.
The girls won one game, tied two and lost one. They showed grit and determination and lots of brilliant teamwork and collaboration over their four games. The girls’ try scorers were Asha Towers, Livia Walsh and Ruby Lowther but everyone made an impact on the field. Overall the girls team had a great day and had lots of fun.
