Term 3 Wrap-Up: Learning, Faith and Community
What a wonderful and action-packed term we have had at Holy Cross! Term 3 has been filled with opportunities for our students to learn, explore, celebrate, challenge themselves and grow together.
Learning Through Science
Our students have been investigating Physical Science, developing their understanding of forces and how they affect the world around us. Students have also enjoyed hands-on learning through focus incursions, providing an engaging opportunity to explore and investigate through practical experiences.
Celebrating Books and Learning
Book Week was a highlight of the term, with our students embracing the theme ‘Symphony of Stories’ through reading, creativity and imagination. Our Book Week Parade was a wonderful celebration of books, characters and the joy of reading, with students and staff sharing in the fun.
We also celebrated 100 Days of Prep, marking an incredible milestone in the learning journey of our youngest students. It was wonderful to see our Preps reflect on how much they have grown and learned throughout their first 100 days of school.
Growing in Faith
Faith and religious education have continued to be an important part of our term. Our students participated in their Eucharist Reflection Day and our Eucharist Family Night, providing opportunities for students and families to reflect on the meaning of the Eucharist and prepare for this important sacrament.
Staff also had the opportunity to participate in the RE Symposium, continuing our commitment to strengthening Religious Education and faith formation across our school.
Our Feast Day was another wonderful opportunity to come together as a school community, celebrating through liturgy, fellowship and our much-loved Tabloid Sports.
Junior Chef Success!
Another exciting highlight this term was our amazing Junior Chef Team competing against other local primary schools at Sacred Heart College. Our talented students represented Holy Cross with enthusiasm, teamwork and creativity as they put their culinary skills to the test.
We are incredibly proud of our Junior Chef Team, who took out the win! Their success was a wonderful reflection of their preparation, collaboration, confidence and ability to work together under pressure. A huge congratulations to our students. What an achievement!
Learning Beyond the Classroom
Our students have had some fantastic opportunities to learn, grow and build relationships beyond the classroom this term.
Our Years 5 and 6 students travelled to Adanac for camp, while our Years 3 and 4 students enjoyed their camp experience at Lady Northcote. Camps provide students with opportunities to develop independence, resilience, teamwork and confidence, while creating memories that will stay with them for years to come.
Sport and Physical Activity
It has been another very busy term on the sporting front! Our students have represented Holy Cross with enthusiasm, teamwork and pride across a wide range of sports, including Netball, Basketball, AFL, Volleyball, Hotshots, Rugby and Cricket.
Our Years 3–6 Athletics Carnival was another highlight, with students challenging themselves, encouraging one another and demonstrating our school values through participation and sportsmanship.
A huge congratulations to all students for getting involved, having a go and supporting their teammates.
What a Term!
From science experiments and sporting competitions to camps, celebrations, books, cooking competitions and faith experiences, Term 3 has certainly been full of learning and memorable moments.
We are incredibly proud of the way our students have embraced each opportunity, supported one another and continued to grow as learners and members of our Holy Cross community.
Thank you to our dedicated staff, wonderful families and enthusiastic students for making Term 3 such a successful and memorable term. We look forward to all that Term 4 will bring!
