Careers - Port or Melbourne Excursion

Port of Melbourne

Year 11 and 12 VCE VM students recently visited the Port of Melbourne as part of their program. This experience supports the VCE VM’s focus on developing a broad, real-world understanding of how industries operate and the people behind them.

During the visit, students explored key activities across the port and gained insight into current and emerging growth industries in the area. They also learned about the skills and pathways needed to pursue careers within these sectors.

Students had the opportunity to hear directly from industry professionals at Victoria International Container Terminal and Australia Amalgamated Terminals. These sessions provided valuable firsthand knowledge about the operations of a fully automated container terminal and the management of the 16-hectare car terminal at Webb Dock West.

The excursion was a valuable opportunity for students to connect classroom learning with real-world applications and explore future career possibilities.
