Dramatic Minds Festival 2025 Taking the Drama out of Mental Health!
During Week 5, Wagga Wagga Christian College joined students from a number of other Riverina schools for the Online 2025 Dramatic Minds Festival. Currently in its 16th year, the event moved from face-to-face to online two years ago to make it more accessible to schools across the Murrumbidgee Local Health District.
Entries included artworks, photography, drama, short films and dance all exploring mental health, alcohol and other drug topics from the perspective of the students. Wagga Christian College submitted 6 entries from students in Years 7 to 10.
In the digital art section, Claire Wilson (Year 9) was awarded first prize for her artwork titled “Masking”. Congratulations also to Leo Wang (Year 10), whose painting “Depression” was awarded first place in the art section.
Judges look at the artistic merit of the presentation, the standard of the comment on mental health, and the impact from the point of view of someone who has had a lived experience of mental illness.
Congratulations to every student for their contributions to taking the drama out of mental health.
