From the Principal

We are rapidly approaching the end of term and excitement is growing for Christmas and the many events between now and then. Last week, staff reflected on Nehemiah 6, where Nehemiah faced opposition, distraction, and pressure, but Nehemiah stayed the course. He refused to be diverted from the work God had given him, and the wall around Jerusalem was rebuilt in just 52 days. His perseverance reminds us that faithfulness is not just about starting well; but finishing well.

As we come to the close of another school year, we too are called to finish well. For our students, this means completing class work with diligence, showing kindness in friendships, and carrying integrity into every action. For our staff and families, it means continuing to build a community where each child is welcomed, known, and encouraged to grow.

Like Nehemiah, let us not be distracted from the good work God has entrusted to us. May we end this year with gratitude, peace, and hope, ready to step into the new season with strength and joy.

End of Year Events

The College Twilight Carols are rapidly approaching on this Thursday 27 November from 5:00pm. This is an exciting night for the whole community to come together to enjoy our student performances and join in with the singing as we celebrate the birth of Jesus this Christmas.

The College Company is hosting a Company Information, Thanksgiving and Prayer night coming up on Tuesday 2 December at the College from 7:00pm. This is intended as a night of prayer and thanksgiving for the year and is open for all parents to attend. There will be tea, coffee and dessert to share and a range of information about the milestones of 2025. If you're not familiar with the role of the Company, please see here for more information.

As we approach Christmas, I am excited that a number of our students are participating in a Christmas Cook to prepare meals to support the Community Kitchen Ministry of Wagga Wagga Baptist Church. The Community Kitchen provides a welcoming and safe space where our city’s most vulnerable can enjoy a nutritious meal and genuine connection each week. The volunteers there seek to demonstrate the love of Christ in practical and relational ways—offering time, care, and support to those experiencing financial hardship, social isolation, or personal difficulties.

Presentation Events:

A reminder that our major presentation events are coming up on Monday 8 December:

  • Preschool at 11am
  • Primary School at 9:30am
  • Secondary School at 7:00pm

All parents are welcome to attend to celebrate together the achievements and contributions of our students, as well as hear some updates as we plan ahead for 2026.

Grace and peace,

Dr Rahmi Jackson

We are delighted to announce and warmly welcome our 2026 College Captains! These outstanding students have been chosen to lead with integrity, kindness, and a heart to serve our community.

Every week we will share the heart behind one of our 2026 College Captains. This week, we have Sarah McDowell.

I am passionate about growing the school physically, mentally, and spiritually. I hope to do this with the help of my fellow College Captains, the SRC, and our amazing student leader team.

I enjoy reading, cooking, and singing. I regularly attend church and youth group, and love serving there. In the future, I plan to become an obstetrician or grow the kingdom of God through mission work. My favourite Bible verse is:

We live by faith, not by sight.

2 Corinthians 5:7

Staffing Updates

Mrs Halley Smith has been appointed as a HSIE teacher and Stage 5 Coordinator for 2026, with Mr Steve Forbes-Taber moving to Careers Advisor for 2026.

It is with sadness that we announce that Mrs Linda Moore will be shifting into a casual teaching role for 2026, we'll still see her around regularly and are thankful for her support of the College. Mrs Bethany Jackson will be stepping in as acting Learning Leader HSIE for 2026.

Coloured Sand Products

In a review of the recent announcements of a range of recalled coloured sand products due to possible asbestos contamination, the College has inspected all of our storage and located some of these products. The updated advice from SafeWork NSW is that no respirable asbestos fibres were detected in the recalled sand products and confirming the enHealth advice that there is a "very low health risk". The College has followed advice to remove this sand immediately, clean areas and dispose of the products. For any questions about this please contact the Principal.
