Our Year 7 and Year 8 English class have been allocated a fortnightly lesson called Reading Detectives at their campus library. This year the program for years 7 & 8 will focus on guided reading in small groups as well as the opportunity to read quietly for pleasure We want the students to build their reading comprehension skills and reading stamina. The students are divided into small groups with a teacher leading the learning by asking questions about the text they are reading. It is hoped that we can allow the students to be exposed to a variety of text from various subject areas such as humanities and science.
