Year 8 News

Vermont Secondary College

Wow … How are we already more than halfway through the Term!? A lot has happened, such as Year 8 camps, and subject preferences for 2027.

The most recent camp for Year 8 Stirling in Week 4 was extremely successful, with largely overall behaviour to be praised and conducting respect across Melbourne’s CBD consistently. Some of the highlights were interacting with the artworks at ArtVo for some wacky photo opportunities, and the glorious Melbourne landscape views from atop the Eureka Skydeck.

Well done to the Year 8 cohort who digitally submitted their subject preferences on time.

A friendly reminder, for next time to understand the difference between the website and physical form handed to student managers:

- The submission digitally via the link that was emailed to students is the PRIORITY (as this is the data that will be used to determine classes that run, class sizes, and college timetable etc)

- The physical form that’s then handed to SMs is somewhat less urgent – we will still chase this up, but the purpose of handing this in is more to relay that a conversation about the subject choices has taken place at home (hence the parent signature section).

So it was great to see plenty of forms handed in with the signatures included.

Best of luck for the final four weeks of Term 3 – whether its going to include usual classes, contribution to sports and/or programs, or assessments – Enjoy!
