SCHOOL PRODUCTION – CURTAINS: SCHOOL EDITION

I had the great pleasure of attending the Sunday matinee performance of Curtains, our school production, over the weekend. This was an astonishingly good performance. The staging, choreography, singing, acting, lighting and sound were all exemplary and made more impressive with the knowledge that this is predominantly student-led and student-run. 

Congratulations to the VSC staff who led and supported our students throughout this journey:  Victoria Adams, Lyndsay Houghtling, Jeremey Shannon, Frank Pierce, Alyssa Di Benedetto, Cindy Wu and Darren Davies.

I understand some tickets are still available for the final performances this weekend and I encourage you to attend, even if your child is not directly involved in the production. This show is a fine example of the calibre of work our students are capable of achieving and a testament to their talent, dedication and teamwork.

PARENT CARER OPINION SURVEY – Please Have Your Say

Our school is conducting the annual Parent / Carer Opinion Survey offered by the Department of Education and is seeking your feedback. The survey is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behavior, and student engagement. The survey is optional, but we encourage and appreciate your participation.

Our school will use the survey results to assist in identifying areas for improvement and professional development needs in the school, to target school planning and improvement strategies. 

The Parent / Carer Opinion Survey will be open online from Monday 17 August to Friday 18 September 2026. All families are invited to participate in the survey.

The online survey will be available in English and 10 other languages including Arabic, Greek, Hakha Chin, Hindi, Japanese, Punjabi, Simplified Chinese, Somali, Turkish, and Vietnamese. Resources are also available in additional languages to assist parents / carers who speak a language other than English at home. Please reach out to the General Office for survey guides in your language.

STAFF PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT DAY – FRIDAY 28th of AUGUST

Friday the 28th of August will be a student free day as we will hold a Staff Professional Development Day. The day is set aside to provide us with an opportunity to build teacher knowledge and practice relating to our recently introduced VSC Instructional Model.
