FIRST LEGO League Challenge
This year, we have three Vermont Secondary College teams participating in the FIRST LEGO League Challenge.
In addition, we are hosting our very first Regional Tournament on Saturday 14th November. We need volunteers to make this incredible experience possible. If you are willing to be a judge (Engineers, Scientists, Programmers, Designers, R&D specialists we are looking at you!), a volunteer to direct our guests through the school, MCs, timekeepers, coordinators, table supervisors, score keepers – the roles are so varied, we’d love to hear from you!

Vermont teams (comprising a mix of Year 7, 8 and 9 students) are meeting twice a week to work on the challenge ‘BioGlow’.
As part of the challenge, they have been investigating potential areas to create innovative solutions in the field of biodiversity, including consulting experts in the field, whilst building and coding robots to complete various missions as part of their ‘robot game’. Along the way, they need to document their robot design process and demonstrate core values in everything they do, including Discovery, Innovation, Impact, Inclusion, Teamwork, and FUN!
If you have any experience in the field of Biodiversity and willing to talk to our students about your expertise, please let us know. They would love to get information from experts to help them design a practical and innovative solution to a real-world problem. If this is you, we’d love to hear from you (either in person or virtually)
