Western Metropolitan Regional Netball Championships 

Congratulations to our Year 5/6 District Netball Girls and Boys/Mixed Teams, who competed in the Regional Finals last Thursday at Altona Sports Stadium. 

Both teams competed against some of the top teams in the region, playing seven back-to-back games throughout the day. It was a fantastic effort from all students, demonstrating great teamwork, resilience and sportsmanship. 

This is the fourth consecutive year that our Year 5/6 Sport Netball Teams have qualified for the Regional Finals, a fantastic achievement! 

The Girls Team finished 8th overall, while the Boys/Mixed Team finished an impressive 5th overall. 

A huge thank you to Mr Moore and Mrs Collins, who have been instrumental in training, coaching and developing our students through the Year 5/6 Sport Netball program. Their dedication and support have played an important role in the continued success of our teams. 

Well done to all our students for representing our school so proudly. 

Victory Cup  

Last week, our students proudly represented the College at the Melbourne Victory Cup, with teams competing across two exciting days of 7v7 football. 

On Wednesday, our Year 8 and 9 students stepped up to compete in the Year 9/10 competition, taking on older students from schools across Victoria. Our Boys team put together an outstanding campaign, finishing in the top three and progressing through to the play offs. Our Girls team went one step further, winning their play off match in a thrilling penalty shootout before unfortunately going down in the semi final. 

To compete so strongly against students a year or two older is a fantastic achievement and a testament to the talent, resilience and determination of our students. A huge thank you to Mr Gill and Ms Filipovska for coaching and supporting our teams throughout the day. 

On Friday, it was the turn of our Senior students to take to the pitch. Our Boys team battled their way through to the play offs before unfortunately falling to Rowville, who went on to win the entire competition. Our Girls team also enjoyed a fantastic run, defeating St Michael’s 1 0 in the play offs before their campaign came to an end against Rowville in the semi final, who also went on to claim the overall tournament victory. 

Across both days, our students demonstrated fantastic sportsmanship, teamwork and pride in representing the College. Competing against some of the strongest school football programs in the state, and doing so against older and highly experienced opposition, is something our students should be extremely proud of. 

A special thank you to Mr Ciccone, who put on the coaching hat for our Senior teams and provided fantastic support throughout the day. 

Congratulations to all of our students who represented the College. We are incredibly proud of your effort, attitude and determination!

Parent Collection from Training and Match Venues  

Parents who wish to collect their child directly from a training or match venue must first complete the ACS Sport Student Venue Collection Application via the link below. 

Please note that ACS buses do not return to Canowindra campus at the end of training and match days. All buses return to Yirramboi campus.
