Book Week

What a fantastic start to the term it's been! The library has been buzzing with excitement, and we couldn't be more grateful for your incredible support.

This term's Book Week was a huge success, and it's all thanks to you. Your enthusiasm and creativity shone through in the amazing costumes, making the Book Week parade a truly memorable event. It's so wonderful to see how much you encourage a love of reading at home. It was amazing to see so many of you there on a very bleak day. Loved also seeing our little Joeys part of the celebration. It was also great to see the choice of characters that the children chose. Whilst we had lots of the popular characters we also had ones that we haven't seen before. Fantastic effort, well done everyone.

The highlight of our Book Week celebrations was the visit from the talented author and illustrator, Kim Michelle Toft. Kim's presentation was captivating, taking the students on a journey through her beautiful books and inspiring them with her passion for marine life and conservation. It was a truly special experience that the children will remember for years to come.

To top it all off, we had a very successful Book Fair. Seeing so many of you and your children browsing and buying books was fantastic. The funds raised from the book fair will go directly back into our library, allowing us to purchase new resources and keep our collection fresh and exciting for all the students.

Your involvement makes a world of difference. Thank you again for your continued support of our library and for helping to foster a strong reading culture within our school community. We're already looking forward to everything else we have planned for the rest of the term!

Please keep on encouraging your child to borrow. Finding the right book can make all the difference for a reluctant reader. The genres  such as —nonfiction, graphic novels, and picture books—are fantastic tools for engaging students who may be hesitant to pick up a traditional chapter book.
