COLUMBA HOUSE UPDATE

What a fantastic start to the year it has been for Columba House! Term 1 was filled with energy, enthusiasm, and outstanding student involvement, and we're just as excited for what's to come in Term 2.

Throughout Term 1, it was incredible to see so many Columba students actively participating in a wide range of activities—including SIS sports, house carnivals, camps, retreats, the Arts Festival, HPE Week, Harmony Week, and the recently completed Humanities Week. Columba has always prided itself on a strong culture of involvement, and this term truly reflected that spirit.

We also celebrated some fantastic achievements. At the House Aquatics Carnival on March 6, Columba secured second place—a brilliant effort from all involved. Even more impressively, we went one better at the Athletics Carnival on March 25, claiming first place, thanks to high levels of participation and some outstanding performances across both track and field events. Thank you to our House Captains, Levi Hughes and Marnath Machar, and our dedicated Columba staff for leading the way on the day.

As we move into Term 2, I encourage all students to continue showing their talents in and out of the classroom. Get involved, take on new challenges, and make the most of the many opportunities at St John's.

Wishing everyone a productive, fulfilling, and successful Term 2.

— Mr Mark Alexander Columba House Leader

I want to say a huge congratulations to Columba for winning House Athletics, your efforts, participation, and hard work paid off massively. You all displayed extraordinary determination; Levi, Mr Alexander, and I could not be prouder.  As House cross country is just around the corner, it would be amazing to see the same efforts, participation and spirit displayed at house athletics; let's aim for another victory; go, Columba! As we prepare to transition to our new name, Mackillop, I believe that we as a house should/do exemplify her image in our lives. Mary Mackillop was a courageous, compassionate human who always strived for more. Let’s continue to be the amazing house we are!
