Introducing 'New' Staff

Janielle Beh

Hi everyone, my name is Janielle and I’m a new chaplain at Christway Kingston! You’ll see me around on Tuesdays and Fridays. I get really excited about youth discipleship and missions. I believe in the importance of coming alongside students, encouraging their faith, and nurturing spiritual growth. One of the things I’m especially thrilled about is mentoring students in chapel worship, and seeing them develop their gifts and talents to serve the Lord!

I initially studied music at the University of Melbourne for my first degree, then felt God’s calling to undertake a year-long graduate diploma at Bible College. In 2017, I earned a Master of Teaching in secondary music at Monash University. Having a heart for youth ministry, teaching, and missions, God immediately led me on a path beyond Australia and I served as a teacher in Afghanistan and Rwanda over the span of 7 years. I have taught classroom music, bible classes, piano, choir, and even song writing! At my previous work, the Kigali International Community School, I had the privilege of discipling Year 7 girls and organising chapel worship with high school students in addition to my teaching duties. That sparked a desire in me to pursue something similar back in Australia.

When my husband and I returned to Melbourne last year, I began praying about the possibility of chaplaincy as a shift in my teaching career. It’s truly an answered prayer and a joy to serve as a chaplain in this beautiful Christ-centered school community!

Beyond work, I love going on long walks, reading, travelling to new places and trying new restaurants. I look forward to getting to know more staff and students in Term 4!
