Choir

This has been an exciting term beginning with the Senior choir singing a patriotic song commemorating Anzac Day. Well done Senior choir. Our Junior and Senior choirs performed for the first time in four years at the bi-annual Choral Fanfare held at Merrimac Primary School. A big congratulations to both choirs for both receiving Silver Awards for their excellent singing. This prepared both choirs for our annual Shine Concert held in Week 8, performed outdoors, in front of the tennis courts.  The weather was calm and overcast, not too chilly and both groups as always, did their best.  Singing on the stage in another school, then outside in public, for some students was a “first time” and we congratulate them for their efforts and persistence in sticking to the task.

Finally in week 10 is Regional Camp and would like to congratulate Isla and Elijah for being successfully selected to participate in choir and Chilli and Zac who were selected to participate in band. Happy holidays everyone.

Strings Students Shine This Semester!

Congratulations to all our talented Tallebudgera State School string students for their hard work and dedication throughout the semester. A special mention to our Beginner Strings who gave their very first performance at the Shine Festival – a fantastic achievement! Our Intermediate and Senior String Ensembles also delivered fine performances, showcasing their growing skills and musicianship. Well done to all students for your commitment and enthusiasm – we are proud of you!

Junior and Senior Dance

What a productive term we had for the junior and senior dance teams. All students' flexibility and technical skills are consistently showing improvement, particularly with kicks and leaps for juniors, as well as turns for seniors. Both teams have done a fabulous job in learning the choreography of their group routine. I want to congratulate those wonderful students that consistently practice the choreography in between lessons. Their hard work is very commendable. During week 8 we had our first performance at the annual Shine Festival, where we were able to show families a glimpse into our routines; Rock-a-by-your-bear and Rhythm of the Night. It was a wonderful morning for our junior and senior dancers, with the audience impressed by their enthusiasm and confidence. Bring on the costumes, lights and stage in Term 3!
