News and Notices

As another wonderful term draws to a close, we wish everyone a safe and happy holiday period!

We look forward to welcoming our students back for Term 3 on Monday, 14 July. We treat the first day of each term as a celebration and our welcome area will be near the tennis courts.

P&C School Disco - 20 June

The Term 2 P&C Disco was a fantastic country themed event!

Children had an incredible amount of fun dancing to the tunes of the DJ and enjoying time with their peers.

While children were at the disco, parents and caregivers relaxed in the fairy-lit waiting area, listening to music and grabbing a sausage sizzle if they wanted to.  There was a relaxed and friendly community atmosphere that we absolutely loved!

Thanks to our P&C, especially Lauren Nielsen and Emma Jessop for coordinating this event!  They worked extremely hard with an attention to detail that made the event run very smoothly.

We are also very grateful to our school community for supporting this event including many parent and carer volunteers. YMCA, our Outside School Hours Care – Louise and her team for donating sausages and their time to run the sausage sizzle and the many Team Tally staff members who volunteered their time helping to set-up, supervise and pack up.

Gala Day

We commend our Year 5 and Year 6 students for showing the Tally Way throughout our recent interschool sport, Gala Day.  They were excellent competitors through their participation, effort and outstanding attitudes.

Sports Days

Our Term 2 sports days were postponed as weather impacted the condition of our fields and prevented the necessary preparation.  We are looking forward to them next term.

Rock Band Performance

Our Rock Band rocked out at the Resin Café in Currumbin.  Thank you Mr Gordon for leading this extra-curricular group and families for supporting it.  We are thrilled to be able to offer this very cool activity to our students.

Report Cards

Report cards were emailed to parents and caregivers yesterday.   We encourage families to discuss report cards with students and include an emphasis on the level of effort children have applied.  Progress interviews will be offered early next term.

NAIDOC Week

NAIDOC week is within the June/July holidays each year so we allocate a week early Term 3 to mark this important event with our students.  This year, we will recognise NAIDOC week throughout the first week of Term 3.  Highlights during that week will include a performance for students (18 July).

Advance Notice - Book Character Costume Day

One of our annual highlights is our Book Character Costume Day.  This year it is scheduled for Tuesday, 19 August. Children are encouraged to dress in costume as their favourite book character and are asked to bring the book with them on the day.  We are looking forward to this special event that forms part of our celebration of reading within our Book Week.
