P&C Update – Glen Innes High School
June Meeting Highlights
At our P&C meeting on 2 June, we were pleased to welcome two SRC representatives who shared that they had recently held a planning day and have many exciting initiatives in the pipeline. It is very encouraging to see such enthusiasm and leadership from our students.
School Update
Acting Principal Natalie Hill delivered the school report, which included an update on the Parent Survey conducted at the end of last year. The results were very positive — families recognise the progress being made at Glen Innes High School across communication, student wellbeing, educational opportunities and community engagement. Parents acknowledged the dedication of staff and the broad range of opportunities available to students.
Key initiatives highlighted include the Stymie Program, strengthened partnerships with the AECG, increased High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE) opportunities, enhanced transition programs and expanded family engagement activities. This feedback will continue to shape future planning as the school remains committed to providing a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment for all.

Exciting News – P&C Federation Appointment
The following announcement has been made by the P&C Federation, and I am looking forward to representing the New England Regional Area.

"Meet Leanne Eastwood, our new Director for the New England Electorate!
We're also very excited to welcome Leanne, as New England is another regional area that hasn't had representation on our board for a number of years.
Leanne lives in a regional town with just one local high school - an experience that has shaped her deep commitment to advocating for public education. As a mother of six, she understands firsthand how much a quality education means for the children of her community.
For Leanne, regional public schools are about more than the classroom. She believes the education delivered by schools like hers is vital to the social fabric of the region, helping to foster the next generation of leaders in agriculture, regional business and resource industries.
Leanne brings 10 years of P&C experience to the role, including four years as President of Glen Innes High School P&C. She loves bringing parents, carers, staff, students and the wider community together in close collaboration, working to improve the educational experience for every child.
Leanne, we're so glad to have your voice at the table - welcome to the board!"
Next Meeting
Our next P&C meeting will be held on Tuesday, 4 August — next term. All parents, carers and community members are warmly welcome.
