The JSC is excited to launch a new feature in our school newsletter — The Teacher Spotlight.
Every newsletter, two teachers will be interviewed by our JSC reps in order for the school community to learn about the awesome things our staff do both in and out of the classroom.

What do you like most about being a teacher?
I like building relationships with the community and helping students prepare for the future.
Where were you born?
I was born in Australia.
Are you a neat or messy teacher?
Bit of both.
What is your favourite quote?
‘More is lost with indecision than wrong decisions’ by Marcus Tullius Cicero
What is your greatest achievement?
My greatest achievement is finishing University.
Do you have any siblings?
I have one younger brother and one younger sister.
How do you get ready for the first day of school?
Make sure I'm prepared, make sure I get lots of sleep and listen to music.
What do you enjoy doing during recess or lunch breaks?
Yard duty and catching up on work.
What’s something students do that secretly makes you laugh?
I love the stories they tell and their mannerisms.
Have you ever had a really embarrassing moment while teaching?
Yes, dancing during the most recent Italian day in front of the Junior year levels.

What do you enjoy doing during recess or lunch breaks?
I love eating, I have my own snack drawer.
Have you ever had a really embarrassing moment while teaching?
Yes, I was teaching and we were talking about witches and I started talking all about ‘Wicked’ the movie and how many witches there were and then I turned around and saw Mr. Cooper in the classroom giving a tour.
What is one of the funniest moments you have had a teacher?
One of my students turned around and had two giant cucumbers in her mouth like walrus tusks and then she laughed so hard they fell out.
How old were you when you started teaching?
I was 22 years old when I started teaching.
Do you have any siblings?
I have an older sister and an older brother .
Do you have a particular fear?
Cockroaches definitely.
Are you a neat or messy teacher?
Messy!
What is your greatest achievement?
My greatest achievement is buying my first house this year with a big backyard for my dog.

Miss Reynolds.
What do you like most about being a teacher?
I love building strong connections with my students and finding new ways to help them learn.
What is your favourite thing to do with your family?
Take our dog on a nice beach walk or eat yummy food.
