Principal's News

Good morning Families,
Long Weekend Coming Up
A reminder that all students will enjoy an extra-long weekend to celebrate the King’s Birthday. On Friday 5 June, staff will participate in Professional Learning focused on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives. This learning is an important opportunity for staff to continue strengthening their knowledge, understanding, and practices to ensure HR remains a safe, inclusive, and culturally responsive environment for all students. This learning is a critical component of Child Safe Standard 1. We hope families enjoy this extended weekend together, providing time for rest, connection, and shared experiences.
Building Works
Last Monday afternoon we welcomed six building companies for a group site visit as part of the upcoming rectification works project. The Architect, Elvis Jeannot and Tom Hatshorn from MACS were present to lead discussions, answer questions, and support the builders as they considered the scope of works ahead of preparing their tenders. This was an important step in the process as we move closer to the commencement of the rectification works in Term 3. We appreciate the collaborative approach being taken to ensure the project best meets our needs and expect an outcome of the successful tender in early June.
Sacraments
The last of our students received the Sacrament of Eucharist on the weekend at St Brendan's Church and we now turn our attention to Confirmation. Families are invited to join our Confimration candidates at Commitment Masses in the parish on the weekend of 20 June ahead of their Confirmation which will be celebrated by Father Andrew.
Office Staff
You may have noticed a new face in the office; Ros, who joins us as admin relief while Anne is on Long Service Leave. Ros worked last week and will be here with us again this week.
Foundation Enrolments 2027
A reminder to families that the first round of Foundation (Prep) enrolments will close this Friday, 29 May. Families seeking enrolment for Foundation 2027 are encouraged to submit their application by this date, as priority for places will be given to applications received in the first round. Additional places will then offered after this date as applications arrive.
We are pleased to share that we will have two Prep classes in 2027 and we thank families for continuing to promote our school within the community.
Wishing you a happy week,
Christine
