Happy Julian, Joseph, and Mary MacKillop (JJAMM) Week! This week is dedicated to celebrating the Sisters of St Joseph, and their founders, St Mary of the Cross MacKillop and Fr Julian Tenison Woods. We thank Mrs Alison Wright, Director of Faith and Mission, along with several dedicated staff members, for organising activities such as Py-JJAMMa Day, JJAMM Donuts, and our Feast Day Mass. This year, Mrs. Wright and the Year 10 Religious Education teachers led our Year 10 students through a reflective day focused on service to others. Additionally, congratulations to Mr. Jesse McDonald and Solomon House for planning the annual Walkathon to conclude our celebrations.
Our school production this year is ‘Grease’. Mrs. Talia Henderson, her dedicated team of staff, volunteers, and our talented students have been working diligently since November to deliver a performance not to be missed. Tickets are available for all performances; please refer to the poster in this newsletter for more information.
Based on student feedback, thicker socks will be available at Clark’s starting in September. We are pleased to see student voices being heard and acted upon to improve comfort and uniform standards. However, we continue to observe students wearing shirts under their uniform inappropriately and some students not adhering to the dress code, including wearing excessive earrings. We appreciate parents’ support in ensuring students wear their uniforms correctly and with pride.
Finally, progress on our new school site is moving forward. We are currently working on planning permit applications to enable construction to begin in 2026. Below is an architect’s rendering of the proposed first building, the Technology and Science Block, showing how it may look upon completion.
I wish you all a Happy St Mary of the Cross MacKillop Feast Day.
