CLEVER CLASS
The students in Prep Bluegum have been having lots of fun exploring mathematical ideas through hands-on activities and games! We have been busy learning about volume, exploring and comparing the amount of space different objects can occupy by creating buildings or robots with Lego or blocks.
We have also been building our addition fact fluency by creating addition fact towers with unifix cubes, which helps us practise number facts in a fun and engaging way. Using natural resources, we have explored patterns and data displays, sorting, organising and representing information in different ways.
Our creativity has continued into our learning about 3D objects, where we have used play dough and matchsticks to construct and explore different shapes and their features. We have also been learning new games using dominoes to strengthen our understanding of numbers and develop our ability to identify numbers that are more than or less than another number.
It has been so great to see the students working together, talking about their mathematical thinking and learning through play, exploration and problem-solving.
