Acting Principal's Message
Mrs Lauren Hall | Acting Principal
As we embark on the final few weeks of Term 3, we have the opportunity to reflect on the fantastic learning experiences our students have been able to enjoy throughout the term.
Our students have experienced a range of opportunities, including musical experiences, sporting activities, excursions and incursions that have complemented and extended their classroom learning. They have also had the opportunity to engage with a variety of cultural experiences, enriching their learning beyond the classroom.
It has been wonderful to see our students embrace these opportunities with enthusiasm, curiosity and a willingness to learn.
JPII Athletics Day
On Wednesday 23 September, we will hold our school Athletics Carnival. We warmly welcome families to come along and support their children as they participate in the many events planned throughout the day.
For families attending, there will also be pizza available at lunchtime to enjoy together.
Please refer to the Compass event for the detailed program and further information. We look forward to seeing many of our families there and celebrating the achievements of our students.
MacKillop College Connections
Throughout this term, our students have had many wonderful opportunities to connect with and continue building relationships with MacKillop Catholic College.
We have worked with students from MacKillop as part of a range of programs, including the Duke of Edinburgh Program, Grade 2 Buddy Program, Grade 5 Taster Day, Transition Days, the Eddie Rice Program and Work Experience opportunities for their students.
These opportunities provide our students with valuable experiences to build connections with older students and develop positive relationships within our wider catholic school community. Having these opportunities for our students to learn alongside and interact with older students can have a significant and positive impact. We look forward to continuing to strengthen these connections and providing further opportunities for our students to learn, connect and grow together.
Staff Update
We would like to congratulate Mrs Laura Lange who has been successful in securing a short term teaching position until the end of the year with Early Childhood Inclusion Service (ECIS). This is an amazing opportunity for Laura and one that we know she will excel in.
Laura’s last day with us will be Wednesday 23 September.
We wish Laura every success as she begins this exciting new experience and we know that she will be a wonderful asset to the ECIS team. Congratulations, Laura!
Reminder
We have noticed an increase in the number of students arriving at school in the morning before student supervision commences.
Please be reminded that morning supervision does not commence until 8.20am. Students are also asked not to enter the classroom areas until the 8.30am bell.
If your child is being dropped off before 8.30am, please ensure they enter through the Emmaus gates rather than through the main office area.
For families who require an earlier drop off option, Lady Gowrie, which operates from Emmaus, provides an excellent service and is available for families who need care before school.
We appreciate your support in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all our students by following these arrangements.
