P&F Committee News
Our St Mary’s P&F Committee is dedicated to planning and organising special events that enrich the school experience for our students and families. We also work together to raise funds to purchase valuable resources that support student learning and wellbeing.
We warmly welcome all parents and carers to join our P&F Committee. If you would like to get involved, we would love to see you at our next meeting next term on Thursday 8th October at 1:45pm in the school library.
If you're unable to attend our monthly meetings due to work or other commitments, you're still welcome to be involved. Simply email the committee to be added to our group, where you can stay informed, share ideas and contribute in a way that suits you.

Truck Show 2026 - Saturday 28th November: Volunteering for Rotary
Would you like to volunteer to work a shift in the chip van at this year's Truck Show? (And gain free entry!) Each shift worked raises money for our school. If you are available on this day and would like to help, please let us know so we can formulate the roster.
A big THANK YOU to all of our wonderful families and parishoners who have already offered their time to work a shift or a half shift – we appreciate your support! We will be in touch soon to confirm your time.
Shifts:
9am-12pm (or a half shift eg, 9-10:30, 10:30-12)
12pm-3pm (or a half shift eg, 12-1:30, 1:30-3)

Why I enjoy volunteering at the Rotary Truck Show.
I have been volunteering for at least 4 years for St Mary's and previous to that it was for our children's kindergarten. For each hour of work Rotary will pay our school-a great way to raise some funds.
One of the benefits of volunteering at the truck show is that you only need to show up. Everything is organised, you even have a designated space to park your car.
The time goes so quickly and it's such a fun family friendly vibe, everyone is out for a great time. You can even check out all the exhibits after your shift or catch up with your family and listen to the live music.
If anyone has any questions, please feel free to ask.
I hope you consider giving up a few hours, I'm sure you won't regret it.

Term 3 Student Special Lunch Day
*Friday 18th September – Hot Dog and BBQ day to celebrate the end of term, including vegetarian option. This is also a dress in your favourite footy colours or sports colours day and if you are able to, bring along a non-perishable food item to donate to Castlemaine Community House. THANK YOU!
If students would prefer not to eat this lunch, they can bring along their own lunch as per usual.
Please note: sushi lunch orders can still be ordered on this day if your child would prefer sushi!
Volunteers Required: Are you free and would you like to join us on Friday to help prepare and serve (and eat) lunch on this day? If so, let Clare know. Join us from 12pm at the school tuckshop (via the office to sign in). Please have your Working With Children Check at the office. Thank you!
Toast & Fruit
Breakfast Club continues to provide toast and fresh fruit each morning from 8.30am to 8.45am for any students who would like some extra fuel before the school day begins.
A sincere thank you to our wonderful volunteers who generously give their time to prepare and serve breakfast each morning, collect the bread, and keep our supplies stocked. Your ongoing support is greatly appreciated and makes this valuable program possible.
If you have some time to spare and would like to join our volunteer roster this year, we would love to hear from you. Please email me or leave your name with Krystal in the school office. If you haven't already done so, please also arrange a Working with Children Check and provide the details to the school office.
Thank you for supporting our Breakfast Club and helping ensure our students start each day ready to learn.
A heartfelt thank you to Baker’s Delight Castlemaine for their generous donation of fresh bread each week to support our Breakfast Club.
We also extend our sincere thanks to Castlemaine Fresh for donating a weekly box of fresh fruit to our school. In addition to being enjoyed at Breakfast Club, this fruit is available throughout the school day for students who may need an extra healthy snack, particularly during our morning fruit break.
We are incredibly grateful for the ongoing generosity of these local businesses. Their support helps ensure our students are well nourished and ready to learn each day.
Friday Sushi Lunch Orders
Students can enjoy a delicious sushi lunch each Friday, supplied by Lunch Box Sushi Castlemaine.
If you would like to place an order for your child, simply order online through School Lunch Online. Please note that all orders must be submitted by 5.00pm each Thursday.
Second Hand Uniforms
A selection of second-hand uniforms is available from the school office for families who may need them.
If you have any uniform items that are no longer required, we would greatly appreciate your donations so they can be reused by other families in our school community.
New uniform items can be purchased from Hip Pocket Castlemaine.

Grade 6 Families – Graduation Committee
Our Grade 6 students will celebrate the end of their primary school journey with a special Graduation celebration later this year.
