What Does Easter Mean to You?
For many, Easter is a time of family gatherings, chocolate eggs, and the joy of a long weekend. For others, it is also a deeply significant moment of faith, a time to reflect on sacrifice, hope, and new life. At its heart, Easter is central to the Christian faith—as we remember Jesus’ great love and the sacrifice he made for us.
As 1 John 4:9-10 reminds us: "This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins."
Today, our College community has gathered for a special Easter Chapel to reflect on this incredible love. Our Primary student leaders have brought the first Easter to life, sharing perspectives from those who witnessed Jesus’ journey to the cross and his triumphant resurrection. A number of our wonderful staff have also shared what Easter means to them personally.
As Easter continues, may we all take a moment to focus on Jesus—his love, his sacrifice, and the hope he offers. If you are looking for a way to reflect further, perhaps consider visiting a local church this Easter season. Chaplain Fiona would love to suggest some wonderful local gatherings to you.
May we find joy and hope as we celebrate this Easter.
Primary Class-led chapels
In the last few weeks, it has been wonderful to see our primary classes leading chapel services. Each class has brought enthusiasm, thoughtfulness, and creativity to our times of worship.
Our Year 6 classes have helped us reflect on the stories of Holy Week in the lead-up to Easter, sharing these important moments from Jesus’ life in engaging and meaningful ways.
1B and 3B have also led services - sharing songs, skits, readings, and prayers.
It has been a joy to see our students lead in this way. We look forward to more classes sharing in the coming months!
May God bless you and your family.
