Secondary News

Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we reach the end of a busy and productive term 1, we want to take a moment to reflect on the many achievements of our students and staff. It has been a term filled with hard work, creativity, and perseverance, and we are incredibly proud of everything that has been accomplished.
From academic successes to sporting achievements and extracurricular triumphs, our students have demonstrated outstanding dedication and enthusiasm. These moments have not only enriched our school community but have also reinforced the values of teamwork, resilience, and excellence.
As we head into the Easter holiday break, we encourage students to take this time to relax and recharge. Whether spending time with family and friends, enjoying the autumn weather, or relaxing, we hope that everyone makes the most of this well-earned holiday.
On behalf of the Secondary staff, we wish you a Blessed Easter and a safe and rejuvenating holiday break.
We look forward to welcoming the students back on Wednesday 23rd April.

VCE Business Management Students Visit Yakult
Our VCE Business Management students had the exciting opportunity to visit the Yakult factory in Dandenong and gain first-hand insight into its production process. This excursion allowed students to observe the entire manufacturing journey—from the creation of Yakult’s signature bottles to the final product ready for distribution.
A key highlight of the visit was learning about Yakult’s strong commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), particularly in promoting health and well-being. Students saw how the company integrates ethical practices into its operations, reinforcing their understanding of key business management concepts.
To top off the experience, students enjoyed sampling the probiotic drink and received fun showbags to take home! The excursion was both educational and enjoyable, providing valuable real-world connections to classroom learning.
A huge thank you to Ms Roberts and Mr Gjuho for organising this fantastic learning experience!
VCE Art Excursion
This term the Yr 11 and 12 VCE Art making and exhibiting students visited the Yayoi Kusama exhibition at the NGV in Melbourne. Kusama is a world renowned Japanese artist who is considered a national living treasure, and whose career has spanned 8 decades from her experimental works in post war Japan to the current day.
She is known for her polka dotted pumpkin and flower sculptures in vivid, high gloss colours, and immersive 3D environments are filled with bright colours and light and even more polka dots, including countless thousands painted over enormous canvases, printed over the walls, floors, ceilings and over colossal 3D tentacle-like sculptures that create a 3D labyrinth for visitors to explore and experience. Each dot represents the stars and particles within the universe continuing forever into limitless space.
There are glorious immersive environments created with light and dark, mirrored spheres and domed mirrors reflecting each other into infinity, that manage to feel both playful and overwhelming, even disconcerting at the same time. There are also more intimate human-scale environments, such as "Flower obsession' where the viewers participate in the creation of the artwork, adding stick-on artificial red gerbra flowers to a space designed to feel like a domestic home. The flowers are placed in the space at the whim of the visitor to 'obliterate' the space, resulting in a physical reenactment of one of the artist's childhood hallucinatory experiences which she calls her 'repetitive vision'.
The students learned about the way an exhibition is planned and put together, including the work that goes on behind the scenes, the different roles involved in putting together a world class exhibit, and were then able to see how the outcome was realised when touring the exhibition.
