Softball
The Lightning Softball team had an unforgettable 2025 Summer season, culminating in a well-earned second-place finish in the Premiership. What truly stood out throughout the season wasn’t just the players’ individual talent, but their remarkable teamwork, perseverance, and unwavering support for one another. Key players like Emily, Flynn, and Kunwarvir played pivotal roles in helping the team reach this milestone, showcasing not just skill, but leadership and a deep sense of camaraderie.
Emily’s leadership on the field was a driving force for the team. Her determination in high-pressure moments set the tone for the entire group. She wasn’t just a standout player; Emily’s ability to motivate and encourage her teammates was vital to the team’s success. Whether it was diving for an incredible catch or offering words of encouragement after a tough play, Emily consistently demonstrated what it means to be a team player. Flynn brought a contagious energy to the field, inspiring his teammates with his enthusiasm. His positive attitude never faltered, even when the game seemed uncertain. Flynn’s drive and commitment to pushing through challenges helped rally the team in key moments, and his constant support of others made him a standout player both on and off the field. Kunwarvir, meanwhile, was the calm and composed presence the team needed, particularly during intense moments. His ability to stay focused and communicate effectively with his teammates ensured everyone stayed in sync. Kunwarvir’s quiet but consistent encouragement provided confidence to the team, reminding everyone of the importance of keeping a positive mindset and supporting each other through every challenge.
The team’s second-place finish was a direct result of this spirit of collaboration. From the dugout to the field, every player had each other's backs. The Lightning’s success wasn’t just about raw talent—it was about lifting each other up, learning from mistakes, and celebrating victories together. This season demonstrated the power of perseverance and the importance of a supportive team environment. The commitment to one another, the will to overcome obstacles, and the ability to push through adversity all contributed to the team’s incredible achievement.
The entire season, from start to finish, showed how strong the Lightning team is when they work together. The bond they’ve built is something that will continue to fuel their success in future seasons, as the team looks ahead with excitement, knowing that teamwork, dedication, and mutual encouragement will always be their foundation.
Volleyball
We were initially really happy to be involved in the sport of Volleyball because the rules were easier to follow, and you can participate in a team.
Reflecting back on the tournament, it was a great feeling when you received the ball and successfully hit it over the net. Hopefully, this would result in a point for your team more often than not. There were two teams on the day, a mixed team and a girls' team. This meant that we were able to cheer each other on, which was positive.
A challenge from that day was that not all team members were invested in the game, leading them not to be quick on their feet when the ball came. Furthermore, a challenge was when members would get disappointed if you made a mistake, and it was tough not to feel bad or as though you had let the team down.
We recommend moving forward for the next year that it is important to; listen to the coaches, practice at home the skills you learnt in the Group Sport and participate with your best efforts in every game.

On February 21st, we kicked off the day with a warm up and practice session before starting our games. We faced teams from Pakenham Springs, Nar Nar Goon, Pakenham Hills and Pakenham Primary. Our team performed well, winning 3 out of 4 games and finishing in second place in the lightning prem
Girls Basketball - Auriana's Experience
The best part of Lightning Prem day was playing basketball and having fun with friends. We played against many teams including Pakenham Springs and unfortunately we lost that game.
