National Careers Week

This week is National Careers Week,  a fantastic celebration of all things careers.  At this week’s assembly the students were able to listen to a wide range of presenters from different work environments, ranging from trades, hospitality, university students, and health services.  Students were provided a first-hand insight into careers they may consider.  One clear theme was the importance that the presenters placed upon a candidate's values and ability to communicate.  Communication was clearly a talking point at the assembly across all employment sectors.

MSWA Albany Swim

Fourteen students participated under the coordination of Ms Atsuko Kagi in the MSWA Albany Swim on Saturday 15 May to raise funds for hundreds of people living with neurological conditions in the Great Southern.  The swim was an eight-hour relay challenge and GSG raised $4311 towards the total of $36,440.  Well done and congratulations on this outstanding achievement.

Twilight Concert

The Senior Strings, Pipe Band, Senior Vocals, Guitar Ensemble, Jazz, Concert and Soul Bands all performed under the direction of music staff.  These performances provided the audience with the opportunity to enjoy student talents in their respective musical groups.  Thank you to Mrs Donna Thomas for arranging pizzas and to all the musical staff involved.

World's Greatest Shave

Five of our very brave students took part in the World's Greatest Shave last Friday during lunch time. Together Emma Fisher, Holly Smith, Ciara Franklin, Ella Anderson and Katie Hartzell raised over $5800 towards the Leukemia Foundation. Well done girls!
