Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge 2021

At St. Peter’s College, we recognise the importance of reading for literacy development and

life-long learning and fully endorse the participation of students in the Victorian Premiers' Reading Challenge in 2021. This will strengthen students’ reading habits and support their participation in the Reading Detectives Program in Year 7 & 8.

All Year 7 & 8 students will be receiving their personal Login & Password to enter the challenge.

The Premiers’ Reading Challenge is not a competition; but a personal challenge for children to read a set number of books by 17 September 2021. Students, in consultation with their teachers, will set their own personal goals for the reading challenge based on their personal choices of reading engagement and challenge.

The PRC application offers a range of exciting features including:

  • Rewarding students for reading in the Reading Detective Program
  • access to a library catalogue (including book images and blurbs)
  • a modern user-friendly interface
  • rewarding  students with badges as challenge milestones are achieved
  • the option for students to mark books as a favourite, give them a star rating or complete a book review
  • Rewarding students with an official PRC certificate

The Challenge is open to all Victorian students and St. Peter’s has officially entered all students in Year 7 & 8 at both Clyde North and Cranbourne campuses. Students in Years 9 to 12 are also invited to participate by contacting Ms Sendeckyj for enrollment details.

All students who meet the Challenge will receive a certificate of achievement signed by the Victorian Premier and former Premiers.
