Financial hardship

Dear Families

Koonung Secondary College Council is mindful of the financial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and acknowledges that some members of our community may be facing financial difficulties at this time. If you are experiencing hardship, please refer to our Parent Payment Policy for assistance options.  Staff at the College are available to discuss these and how they may be able to assist you. College Council thanks all members of our community for their continued support and understanding during these challenging times.

Transdev information for students

Transdev will be operating all school bus services as normal to support students returning to school in Term 4.

Transdev has introduced a number of measures to protect students who rely on bus services. You can learn more about Transdev’s COVID-19 response at www.transdevmelbourne.com.au

To prevent the spread of COVID-19 cash is no longer accepted on the public transport network. Despite this, all students are expected to travel with a valid ticket. Students are encouraged to top up their myki before travelling.

Find out how to top up before you travel here: https://www.ptv.vic.gov.au/more/coronavirus-covid-19

To help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and protect your students Transdev is trialling rear door boarding on all bus services.

Students who need the bus lowered or the ramp can still use the front door. When boarding, they should wait by the front door and the driver will assist. When exiting the bus press the bell at the required stop and ask the driver for assistance.

In order to keep our school bus service operating, and ensure the safety of our students, Transdev has increased the frequency of cleaning and sanitisation of all its buses, including those servicing our school community. The increased cleaning regime includes “high touch areas” such as handrails and posts, grab straps, seat top handles, window ledges and bell presses. Find out more about travelling on the public transport network: https://www.ptv.vic.gov.au/more/coronavirus-covid-19/

Thank you for your continued support in helping us deliver a safe and reliable service to your school community.

Christmas fruit mince pies sorted!

Mont Albert Surrey Hills Rotary club (MASH) and Koonung have been supporting each other for many years. Each year MASH donates money from Christmas mince pie sales to a nominated charity and in the 2020 year the charity is the End Polio Now campaign.

The mince pies have a very good reputation and they practically sell themselves.

A big thank you must go to the owner of Bread Street Bakery, David Winter,  for his generous support of this project.

If you would like to support MASH and order some fruit mince pies please complete and the order form below and return to david_winter1954@hotmail.com
