2022 School Council Nominations- outcomes

As the Executive Officer of School Council, it is my role to thank everyone in our community for their ongoing support of our School Council. 

 

Staff Appointments

We are in a position to announce staffing appointments from the 2022 round of nominations. Congratulations to: 

  • Stacey Bowles
  • Michelle Wright

Stacey and Michelle will be joining Llewela Humphries as the staff representatives for Upwey South Primary School. 

 

Parent/Carer Appointments

Thank you to the members of our parent community who replied to our second-round call for nominations. 

 

I am currently in contact with the parents/carers who have nominated for School Council, and we will be in a position to share outcomes with our school community early next week. This announcement will be made through our regular communication channels (via a Compass post).

School Contributions

 

As you would be aware, a huge part of the success of our school is the ongoing commitment and support we receive from families. 

We recently distributed the details of payment information for 2022 via Compass. 

 

If you have not yet acted on this information, we encourage you to do so.

Camps, Sports & Excursion Fund (CSEF) - Financial assistance for families.

Please find attached below information and an application form. 

CSEF is available for families that hold a current Health Care Card.

Application forms are also available at the office. Please don't hesitate to call the office for further information.

 

Shade Sail Works and Outdoor Inclusive Learning Settings

 

School Council members have been hard at work campaigning for improved outdoor learning spaces for our school. 

 

We are pleased to announce that the first round of works commenced this week. As you visit the school you will notice that the areas outlined below are currently a fenced-off construction site. We expect these works to be completed within the next fortnight.

As you may be aware, in mid-2021 our school was awarded an "Inclusive Schools Capital Works Grant" through the Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA). 

 

Plans have now been finalised, and works are due to commence at the end of May 2022. The capital works include an outdoor all-weather classroom, and a fully covered all-weather stage area. 

 

Following the completion of the VSBA works, School Council have allocated funds to enhance this area with additional shade sailing over a large expanse of the area indicated. Please refer to the images below:
