Christmas Appeal

Vinnies Christmas Appeal and Oblate Christmas Card Appeal

At Mazenod College, we consider the words of St Eugene de Mazenod ‘we have but one heart, one soul’ as we work together to develop a sense of solidarity and service all year but especially at Christmas time.

For the last two weeks of this year, we are focusing on two appeals – the Vinnies Christmas appeal and the Oblate Christmas card appeal offered by the Missionary Association of Mary Immaculate, (MAMI) which supports Oblate Missions overseas. In the true spirit of Christmas, your gift can be a gift to those less fortunate both locally and globally.

In past years the Mazenod College community has generously donated food or finance to the Vinnie's Appeal. Additionally, they have funded the Oblate programs through their donations to the Gift Card appeal.

The donations to Vinnies will be distributed through the local Parishes. Donations of food items and cash donations are appreciated and used to assist the generous commitment of St Vincent de Paul conferences in offering ‘a hand up’ to people in need at Christmas time.

Each homeroom has been encouraged to bring something different - see the image below. Students can drop off donations during homeroom, to their Year Level Coordinator or directly to the RE Centre in the Heritage corridor.

If you would like to buy an Oblate Christmas Gift Card, which explains that you have purchased a gift card in place of a gift to give to friends or family, you can do so in person at the front office (cash only) or online by following the details in the newsfeed on MazCom https://mazcom.mazenod.vic.edu.au/. If you choose to use the online option, please advise me of your receipt details and your son’s name and homeroom via email jhunter@mazenod.vic.edu.au so the card can be delivered home via your son.

Thank you for your generous consideration.
