I graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Ph.D. in Mathematics. My academic research interest is Algebra under the branch of pure mathematics. Post university I did a Working Holiday in London, where I private tutored and holidayed! My special skill is back-packing, I explored most of the Europe during my working holiday. I have also lived in Vienna for a few years (due to family), hence I speak moderate German.
I came back to Australia in Dec 2021 for the first time in many years. I am now part of the Monash Residency Program, for which I study Master of Education and work at Mazenod at the same time. I am absolutely proud to be here in the Mazenod Community.
Nives Milanovic
Hi, my name is Nives Milanovic and I am very excited to be joining the Mazenod School Community.
I am embarking on a new career as a teacher after some time off to care for my family. I am completing my Master of Teaching (Residency Program) at Monash University and my specialty teaching areas are Mathematics and Chemistry. This year at Mazenod College, I am part of the Learning Diversity team and the Tutoring Program.
I have Bachelor of Science from The University of Melbourne and hold a PhD in Chemistry. I worked at CSIRO for a time before moving into the Dairy Industry where I was part of the Farm and Innovation Research Management Team.
I am married and have three boys of my own, all of school age now and during my career break, we lived in Adelaide and Sydney.
Though I’ve always been interested in the sciences, I am also keen on the arts and languages and speak Italian. My favourite moments are those with my children, friends, and family-sharing good food and stories. I do cherish quiet time with a good book, paintbrush, or movie and never say no to travel or time at the beach. I did succumb to baking sourdough bread during lockdown, which I still try and do on weekends. An activity capturing maths, chemistry, food, and family!
