Welcome to Molong Central School Kindergarten and Year 7 - 2022

Kindergarten transition continued this week. Most future students were excited and for those more hesitant at the beginning of the day I am pleased to say that by the end of the day smiles and positivity was the general feeling among students and staff. Our future students engaged in activities to familiarise themselves with the routines and expectations of school.

Last Wednesday we hosted students from Cudal Public, Cumnock Public, Grose View Public, Manildra Public, Orange Public and Stuart Town. The 2021 Transition program took a different format this year due to COVID restrictions, but it was wonderful to finally welcome students from other schools into our school environment.

Current Molong Central Year 6 students were supportive of our future enrollments and Mr Carver our new Year 7 Advisor hosted a series of activities to help support student feel more comfortable about starting Year 7.

The day began with introductions to staff members who will be available to support them in 2022 as well as to our Secondary Leaders who were ready to offer additional support to students. This was followed by a scavenger hunt activity to familiarise students with their new environment. Judging by the excitement on the students faces they quickly made new connections and enjoyed the experience.

Science and Maths lessons engaged the students for the middle session, and this provided an opportunity for students to experience a Year 7 learning environment. Sport was an opportunity for students to experience what a sport afternoon is like for our secondary students.

Thank you to our staff who have supported both the Kindergarten and Year 7 Transition programs, it is a busy time of year, but these events are crucial in terms of supporting students successfully adapt to the rigors of such an important aspect of their lives.
