Primary News

Mrs Audrey Brown

Let the fun begin. As we draw near to the end of the year, we have some fun activities planned. Stage 2 and Stage 3 will be experiencing Burrendong in a Backpack, whilst Early Stage 1 and Stage 1 have a visit to a farm planned. Year 6 have been challenged by Miss Rutherford to a teacher verse Year 6 sporting event which will see teachers taking on teams of Year 6 students in a range of sporting events. The Year 6 Farewell is on and planning is currently underway. Learn to Swim has started this week with Mrs Honeyman and Mrs Quinn whilst Scripture is back in a different format. Our transition programs have been a great success with our 2022 Kindergarten students visiting for a full day in the last two weeks and our Year 6 students heading off to our High School for a day with Year Advisor Mr Carver. This week we are hearing from 21 keen Year 5 students who would like to represent the Primary department in various leadership roles. It is so wonderful to see so many students taking pride in their school and themselves! As we draw closer to the end of the year, a reminder that Attendance Matters, we wear our school uniform with pride and mobile devices are handed in each day.

Our teachers are noticing that children are consistently tired in class. Students are reporting that they are up late on devices. This is such a challenge for parents (we share your pain). One simple solution is to move all chargers for the devices out to the living room so that students do not have access after lights out. Below is a link from the Department of Education that might also help. The arguments that follow limiting time or setting boundaries can be exhausting, however the benefits are worth it!
