YEAR 7 GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

On Wednesday March 8th, the year 7 girls volleyball teams went to Mornington Secondary College to compete in the Southern Peninsula division volleyball competition. All students represented the college brilliantly by displaying excellent sportsmanship and improving considerably throughout the day. We had to split into an A and a B team. The B team did not lose a match and played excellent volleyball in every game. The A team were undefeated coming into the final match against Dromana (who were also undefeated). This match was a real “nail-biter” going to a 3rd and deciding game. We had our chances but unfortunately were not able to overcome Dromana.

Well done on being runners-up girls.

The girls who played on the day were:

Emily Armfield, Dhylen Carroll, Sienna Clayton, Vivienne Files, Georgie Garbers, Adelaide Grigor, Lara Jackman, Stevie Maclean, Isabel Mimmo, Isabel Morgan, Sarah Sadler, Maya Smith, Madelaine Smith, Olivia Smith, Macey Spence.

On 29th March, two of our Unit 3 VCE PE class participated in extensive laboratory fitness tests. Sean Meghji volunteered to complete the Maximal Oxygen Uptake test on the treadmill, running as hard and as long as he could. Tom Blennerhassett volunteered to complete the Peak Power test on the bike. Both students were pushed to their physical limits and produced great results, of which will be utilised by the class as part of their studies. Thanks and well done to you both!

On Tuesday 14th March, our year 8 girls volleyball team competed in interschool sport at Mornington Secondary College. The team went through undefeated in their pool games and came up against Western Port Secondary College in the final. The team served really consistently in this game and this allowed them to win in straight sets. A big congratulations girls!
