In June, 2019 our Year 9 students of Italian participated in the annual poetry recitation competition held at Melbourne University. After the competition, the students had the opportunity to explore the Italian-style shops, Brunetti’s Italian café and have lunch in one of the many Italian restaurants in Lygon Street.
Our students competed with numerous schools across Melbourne, both public and private, and achieved many awards. We, the teachers of Italian, are proud to announce the following results.

SWINBURNE JUNIOR ITALIAN POETRY COMPETITION 2019
In June, 2019, our Year 7 & Year 8 students participated in the annual Italian poetry recitation competition run by the Swinburne University of Technology. We thank all those students who participated in the competition and we hope that they had an enjoyable, educational experience.
An appreciation of poetry is an essential skill for all students in all languages, so we hope that their experience in Italian poetry will enhance their appreciation of English poetry and any other language that our students may be fortunate enough to know.
We, the teachers of Italian at Lalor Secondary College, hope that all those students who participated this year will do so again next year. Those who did not, should avail themselves of the opportunity in 2020.
After reciting their Italian poem before an examiner from the Swinburne University of Technology, the Italian teachers rewarded the participants by providing an Italian-style brunch which included pizza and gelato.
The following students are to be congratulated on their achievement. BRAVI RAGAZZI! BEN FATTO!
A very special congratulations goes to…………………………
