Roadworks

Please see below information sent to the school by Western Project regarding roadworks:

Ballarat-Maryborough/Western Freeway interchange upgrade - road closure (nightworks): 19 February 2023

Ballarat-Maryborough Road (Howe Street) will be closed between Normlyttle Parade and the Western Freeway from 7pm, Sunday 19 February to 5 am, Monday 20 February, weather permitting.

The Western Freeway eastbound entry and exit ramps will be closed during these works.

Detours will be in place. Please plan ahead to minimise delays.

This closure is required for drainage works, which will be completed at night to minimise impacts to road users.

The Western Freeway westbound exit and entry ramps will remain open to traffic entering and exiting the freeway from Ballarat- Maryborough Road, south of the freeway.

If nightworks cannot proceed as planned due to unforeseen circumstances including weather or site conditions, it will be scheduled on the next available work night. Changes to dates will be updated on the message boards at each end of the works.

Detours

North-bound traffic from Learmonth Road towards Miners Rest

Detours via Ring Road, Gillies Street North, Gillies Road and Kennedy’s Road.

South-bound traffic from Miners Rest towards Wendouree

Detours via Kennedy’s Road and Gillies Road.

South-bound traffic from Miners Rest to access Western Freeway

Detours via Kennedy’s Road and Midland Highway.

West-bound traffic heading from Western Freeway to Miners Rest

Detours via Sunraysia Highway and Miners Rest Road.

Public transport

Bus route 31 (Wendouree Station – Miners Rest) will operate as normal during nightworks.
