We, at Miners Rest Primary School, would like to acknowledge the Wadawurrung people of the Kulin Nation.
We pay our respects and thank the Wadawurrung people.
May we share your land. We promise to look after it, as well as the animals and people too.
Families, just a friendly reminder that drop off time for students each morning is from 8:45 - 9:00am. Drop off prior to 8:45am can be to our Out-of-School-Hours Care facility next to the Brady Building.
Drop off prior to 8:45am or bike riders arriving early means students are unsupervised, which often leads to issues for students. Staff are on yard duty from 8:45am onward each morning.
As always I was heartened by the response I gained to an email sent last week to all families. We are so lucky to live in an amazing community, filled with positive, supportive and helpful families. I won't embarrass individuals, but you are very much appreciated.
As a result of the volunteer generosity, our students will soon have a newly erected accessible cubby house and 'gaga' pit.
On the back of substantial and targeted fundraising by our very cool JSC members, we will have these great acquisitions very soon.
I am now seeking a barista trained community member to re-open our cafe. If there was someone willing but not trained, I am willing to pay for the training, if this will assist us opening our cafe again for two mornings per week for our parent / carer group to access.
If you are willing or know someone who would be (skilled or unskilled), please contact the office to speak with me and we can make arrangements from there.
We love having parents & carers on-site, and this would be wonderful for us all.
Another friendly reminder regarding parking in the vicinity of our school at both drop off and pick up times. Under no circumstances should adults park:
I appreciate your cooperation with this message.
